Feudi di San Gregorio Fiano di Avellino 2008

This bottle accompanied a meal at La Calla Delle Lampare in Praiano. The fresh seafood was excellent, the view of the Mediterranean coastline was incredible, and the wine...

EXPERIENCE
Fruity nose at first, though a good swirl reveals a bit of funk. A medium light body, slightly sweet, with a finish that is smooth and slightly bitter. Nice contrast to the falanghina that comes from this area. Not so much dark and crisp, but more smooth and balanced.

VERDICT
GREAT VALUE - We found this bottle in the US for $23. Well worth it for a complex white that stands on its own. If you enjoy falanghina, this is a nice contrast with similar quality.

FACTS
This DOCG wine is made from 100% fiano grapes and comes from Campania. Like we've said before,  Feudi di San Gregorio is big, both in production and esteem, so this shouldn't be hard to find.
